Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Discipline Monitor handles personal data when you use the Android app and related backend services.
1. Data We Process
Depending on how you use the app, the following categories of data may be processed:
- Account data, such as your sign-in identifier and profile information provided by Firebase Authentication or Google Sign-In.
- App content you create, such as habits, projects, journal entries, rewards, streaks, XP, coin balance, and related progress data.
- Subscription and purchase status needed to verify premium access through Google Play Billing.
- Technical service data required for security, authentication, sync, and backend operations.
- Messages you send to AI-based premium features, including AI Coach and AI-generated briefings.
2. Why the Data Is Used
- To sign you in and keep your account connected to your data.
- To store and sync your app progress across supported sessions and devices.
- To verify premium subscriptions and unlock paid features.
- To generate AI-based responses and briefings when you use premium AI features.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
3. Third-Party Services
The app may use the following service providers:
- Google Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, and server functions.
- Google Play Billing for subscription purchase and subscription status handling.
- OpenAI for AI-powered premium features when you actively use those features.
- Google AdMob may be used in free versions of the app to display advertising.
4. AI Features
If you use AI features, the content you submit to those features may be sent to the backend and then to OpenAI to generate a response. Do not enter sensitive data unless you are comfortable with it being processed for that purpose.
5. Data Sharing
Your data is not sold. Data is shared only as needed to provide the app's functionality, including authentication, cloud sync, subscription verification, AI response generation, and, if ads are enabled in the free tier, ad delivery and consent handling.
6. Advertising and Consent
If advertising is enabled in the free tier of the app, the app may use Google AdMob and related consent tools to request, serve, measure, and limit advertising. This may involve processing device identifiers, app interaction signals, approximate location derived from IP address, and consent status where required by law.
Premium users are intended to receive an ad-free experience. If ads are introduced, the corresponding store disclosures and data safety declarations will be updated to match the live app behavior.
7. Data Retention
Data is retained for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, or resolve abuse and security issues.
8. Your Choices
- You can stop using the app at any time.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play.
- You can avoid AI processing by not using AI-based premium features.
9. Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for children under the age specified by the store listing and target audience settings.
10. Contact
For privacy-related questions, use the developer contact information provided in the Google Play store listing for Discipline Monitor.
